Letter From Leadership - August 2020
Wednesday, July 29, 2020
I want to thank our members and those of you who attended our recent policy picnics, and to Shiloh Dairy in Wisconsin and MoDak Dairy in South Dakota for graciously hosting us. It was good to see the positive attitudes and outlook from many of you.
We realize these are difficult times navigating COVID-19, but it’s encouraging to see members’ desire to stay engaged. We are continually looking for alternative ways to deliver services and information to you, our members. We realize everyone has different levels of comfort with in-person events due to COVID-19. Therefore, we are following CDC guidelines for gatherings, but also utilizing virtual options, such as our Dairy Stream podcast. We will continue to adapt our programs to deliver value and information to you in a timely and safe fashion.
Our goal is to stay connected with you because we need your involvement. With the political climate heating up, we need your voice now more than ever before. There is no question dairy’s roller coaster ride for 2020 has been historic and it’s not over yet.
As we continue to deal with COVID-19 policy considerations, we need to keep both parties focused on trade, economic and environmental policies. In this election cycle it is vital we keep these items front and center. Dairy cannot afford to lose ground.
Many of you are in contact with candidates throughout the election process and we ask that you take every opportunity to ask the hard questions and hold them accountable. If you need any materials or talking points, please get in touch with our staff. This is our commitment to you. After all, your voice can and will make a difference.
