Greetings,

We have just completed another year of Policy Picnics and I must say the content, timing and member interaction could not have been better. The content was relevant as we touched on farm bill, trade, dairy product labeling, immigration and regulatory issues. All of these are not only very important to our members, but also to our greater dairy community. Literally as we were hosting the events, Edge staff and lobbyists were amplifying your voice with Congress and the administration on these issues

No different than on your farm, timing is everything and being able to maneuver quickly is key. As staff, we could not have been happier with the turnout and feedback we received from many of you. This provides us with greater confidence. I would be remiss if I didn’t thank our gracious hosts for these events. We couldn’t have done it without you.

As I have said many times, I don’t think dairy, or American agriculture for that matter, has ever seen such a dynamic agenda in Washington, D.C. Everything is hitting us at once. There is no question that it can be nerve racking at times and hard to stay up on the changing situation.

Please know that we are working hard to be in the right place at the right time making sure your voice is heard. Also, please stay connected through our e-mails and social media to stay up-to-date with the evolving situation. We are very mindful of the balance of being timely and respectful of your time, and not just creating noise. We pledge to walk that fine line as we all of us need to keep our eye on the ball to ensue positive outcomes. Stay tuned and engaged!
