Every opportunity I have, I mention Edge’s tagline, “the voice of milk,” as a point of differentiation between us and other dairy cooperatives and organizations. This is much more than a tagline; it’s our organizational promise to you, our members.
We know how important it is to your dairy’s success to be heard on the issues that affect your business. Edge is working hard to have your voice heard as we have a full-court press in Washington, D.C. talking about the farm bill, immigration reform, trade policy, regulatory reforms and product labeling.
I’m also excited to share another shining example of how Edge is bringing your voice to another important initiative for dairy. Edge has been asked, and accepted, an opportunity to serve on the U.S. Farmers and Ranchers (USFRA) board of directors starting this fall. Edge will be the sole voice of dairy helping guide important customer-facing strategies to bridge the gap between farmers and our customers.
As we have mentioned in the past, Edge has been collaborating with USFRA on projects within our milkshed over the past three years and we have seen great results. USFRA is a refreshing opportunity for American agriculture to pool resources and work together on common areas affecting all crops and animal organizations. With the depressed farm economy, we must find ways to be more efficient and effective.
I would also like to take this opportunity to welcome the milk suppliers of the Valley Queen milkshed located in South Dakota. We look forward to your involvement in Edge and amplifying your voices nationally.
To our success,
