Greetings and Happy New Year!
As we usher in the new year, our Edge member services representatives will begin checking in with all of you, our members. We look at these check-in visits as a vital component in making sure we understand what’s on your mind and exploring ways Edge can serve your current and future needs.
These one-on-one conversations are important to us as your ideas and viewpoints are critical as federal policy, regulatory and trade considerations will be front and center in 2018. These significant issues come on top of changing customer demands and label confusion in the marketplace. Gathering your input is critical to best represent your interests.
We will have new opportunities for you get involved with Edge this year. To be the voice of milk requires more frequent and strategic conversations with our members. Unlike many other cooperatives, you will be given an opportunity to choose your level of involvement.
As history has shown us, the number of dairy farms is decreasing, so the level of involvement from our members must increase to meet the goals needed to sustain and grow dairy. As the old saying goes, you only get out of an organization what you put into it. Your financial support is important, but your engagement is paramount.
I trust you can see why Edge needs you now more than ever, and we hope you will do your part to help us help you in the new year.
